Granted that our friends across the big pond have been living it up with the Nokia C6-01, it's not going to be long before North America is subjected to this recognizable Symbian^3 smartphone. Although it's not official official just yet, it seems that the smartphone will be ready to make its debut on our side of the world some time in March through Bell in Canada. So far, the mobile carrier is positioned to carry the Nokia C6-00 in Q1 as well, but the C6-01 might prove to be the more attractive offering since its platform experience has more depth and that it packs on a better camera. Though, it'll be interesting to see if Bell will decide to keep its C6-01 name as opposed to some other moniker to lessen the confusion between it and the C6-00. Additionally, there's going to be plenty to adore about the Nokia C6-01 since it features a nice 3.2” AMOLED display with a resolution of 360 x 640, 8-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash, 720p video recording, and a 3.5mm headset jack.

The Nokia C6-01 is a very good mid range smartphone. The Nokia C6-01 is one of the most capable Nokia smartphones. The hardware is the best that Nokia offers in its high end smartphones and the camera is the best in its price range. It has a relatively small 3.2 inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 360 x 640 pixels.

More worrying is that the top half of the phone sits a bit high on the bottom half, with the result that it feels a little wobbly when closed.

More worrying is that the top half of the phone sits a bit high on the bottom half, with the result that it feels a little wobbly when closed. Prerecorded MPEG4 videos look sharp and detailed on the screen and there's the option to stretch the picture to fit the screen. Battery life is surprisingly weak on the C6, especially since Nokia has been notably strong in this area in the past. The keyboard is a good one, with 39 backlit keys made from tactile rubberised plastic.

The Nokia C6-01 — not to be confused with the older, QWERTY-keyboard-equipped C6 — is a new "compact" full touchscreen smartphone that runs the latest version of Nokia's Symbian operating system....
